About

Minnesota Indian Classical Musicians Club (MICMC)
This group is aimed at bringing together local Indian classical musicians on a regular basis to listen to their music in an informal setting and provide a platform for people with sufficient experience to exhibit their talent. The group would like to have performances from both hindustani and carnatic classical musicians based in the Twin Cities area.

The group is intending to organize one event every two months. Each event will run for about two hours. To accommodate artistes with different levels of experience, there will be slots to accommodate 60-90 minute performances, and/or 30-45 minute performances during each event.

The prerequisite for participation for Carnatic musicians is that the participants should have learnt at least 5 varnams and be able to perform at two speeds.
The prerequisite for participation for Hindustani musicians is that the participants should be able to perform chhota khyal.
